Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said, From now on Fastag will be available at petrol pumps and we plan to make it available across the country. As soon as your vehicle comes near the toll plaza, the sensor on the toll plaza cuts off the charges levied on that toll plaza from your fasttag account as soon as the sensor on the wind screen of your vehicle comes in contact with the fastag. Stopping there, we pay our plaza tax. This tag installed in the vehicle will start its work as soon as your prepaid account is activated. At the same time, when the amount of your Fastag account is exhausted, you will have to recharge it again. Fastag will have a validity of 5 years i.e. after 5 years you will have to install a new fastag on your car.

According to Paytm, you can buy Fastag online on the Paytm app for older vehicles. Customers using Paytm Fastag will get a cashback of 7.5% on every toll transaction. The bank expects the number of vehicles using Paytm Fastag to cross 1 million by the end of this financial year.
