Some historians behind the Siddivinayak temple say that this temple was established in 1692 and it was constructed in 1801 with the official news. Initially this temple was small but later it has been constructed many times due to which now the temples are quite big. The buildings of this temple are 5 storeys.
This temple has a different condition for discourse. There is a hospital on the second floor of the temple, where patients are treated free of cost. There are elevators in this temple. There is a separate lift in this temple where the priests bring puja, offerings and laddus etc. for Ganesha.

The sanctum sanctorum in Siddhivinayak:
There is also a sanctum sanctorum in this temple, the sanctum sanctorum has been built in such a way that devotees can take darshan from the assembly itself. The sanctum sanctorum is 10 feet wide and 13 feet high. In which Lord Ganesha lives. There are three doors in the sanctum sanctorum and all three doors are covered with figures. There is a huge crowd of devotees and after 4-5 hours of the crowd, the number comes in the line. Every year Ganpati Pooja Festival is organized here.
Chaturbhuji Deity located in Siddhivinayak:
A distinct feature of this temple is the lotus flower in the upper right hand of the Chaturbhuji Vigraha Ganesh ji and the curb in the left hand and the bowl filled with beads of beads in the bottom hand and the ladoos in the left hand. Riddhi and Siddhi are the two wives of Ganesha, which is a symbol of wealth, success and fulfillment of desires. A third eye and neck snake necklace is wrapped on the head like Father Shiva, it is made of a black boulder which is two and a half feet high and two feet wide.

To reach Siddhivinayak Temple, first of all you have to reach Mumbai first. Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, is connected to all major cities of the country by road, rail and air.
By Road:
You can take a bus or taxi to reach this temple located in Prabhadevi area of Mumbai. Direct bus services are also available from many parts of Mumbai to get here.
Rail route:
To get from Tres to the temple, you have to take the Dadar train from any station. From Dadar railway station you can reach the temple by walking 15 minutes.
From 5.30 am to 9.50 pm, the doors of the temple are open.
Entry to the temple:
This temple has two gates for entry. It has special facilities for senior citizens, children, disabled, women with young children, NRIs and foreign devotees. Here you can pay paid darshan by paying 50 rupees.
Some interesting facts related to Siddhivinayak temple
- Siddhivinayak is also known as “Navasacha Ganapati” or “Navsala Pavanara Ganapati”. This name is a Marathi name which means that whatever is asked of the Lord with true mind, God definitely gives it.
- Siddhivinayak Temple is an ancient temple and this temple was built on 19 November 1801. This temple was built by a contractor named Laxman Vithu Patil. When this temple was built, it was very small. However, later this temple was expanded.
- It is believed that God fulfills every wish of those who come to this temple barefoot and that is why many devotees walk barefoot to visit Siddhivinayak.
- Along with the idol of Ganesha, both his wives Riddhi and Siddhi are also worshiped in this temple and the idols of both of them are seated with Ganesha.
- There is a story associated with the construction of the Siddhivinayak temple and according to the legend, a poor peasant woman donated money to build this temple. Actually, this woman did not have a child and this woman, while wishing to get children from God, donated money for the construction of this temple.
- Aarti is performed everyday in Siddhivinayak temple. Although the aarti on Tuesday is quite famous and people come from far and wide to be a part of this aarti.
- Two silver mice have also been made in this temple and it is said that whatever is spoken in the ears of these mice is fulfilled.
