1. Central Library, IIT Bhubaneswar

The Central Library plays a vital role in furthering the academic and research mission of IIT Bhubaneswar and facilitates creation and dissemination of knowledge. The range and quality of services offered by the library are comparable to any modern libraries in India of International standard. Soon after the formal appearance of the Central Library in the year 2009, immediate emphasis was given for a good collection development on Text Books and Reference Books.

2. Rabindra Kumar Library

The Library has been named after the Late Rabindra Kumar Mitra, elder son of the Late Nirupama Devi and Late Narendra Kumar Mitra. Rabindra Kumar died an accidental and premature death on 15th of January 1949. He, at the time of his death, was a student of Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha. He was a person of varied interests of art, painting, writing, acting, reading , sports and various social activities.

Services: Library manage all it’s day to-days transaction with it’s own Software.

All the category of books are search from the website of the Library.

A well furnished reading hall for the readers are maintain.

Lending facilities are also available for those are being a registered members.

Facilitates books corner for the Senior Citizen, Women and Children’s in the Library.

4. Harekrushna Mahtab State Library

The concept of Harekrushna Mahtab State Library was conceived during 1st Five Year Plan under the advice of Government of India and was completed in 1959 with a majestic building of around 16000 sq.ft. Carpet area, enshrined within a beautiful land of 3 acres in a prime location of Capital City of Bhubaneswar. In 1967, it was named as Gandhi Bhawan commemorating birth      centenary  of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The State Library was located in this building, but in a corner only. In 1987 it was renovated and entire space of the four storeyed building was utilized for the functioning of two Libraries i.e. State Library for the entire State of Odisha and another Public Library for Bhubaneswar City.

5. Vivekananda Library

The library was started in the year 1956 but it became popular as Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Library since 1963. The present building of the Library was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Gambhiranandaji Maharaj in the year 1968. The well furnished Library has about 27,000 books on various subjects. We subscribe 61 journals every month and 15 newspapers daily. Also, there have been spacious reading rooms where average attendance of readers is 60-70 daily.

6. NCDS Library

The Centre’s library has one of the finest collections of books and journals in social sciences. Efforts are being made to make the library one of the best reference libraries for social science research in eastern India. The library at present has a collection of around 15000 books and back volumes of research journals. Including regular subscription of 20 important Overseas journals the Centre regularly subscribes around 90 journals and periodicals dealing with social, economic, political issues and the like.

8. Silicon Library

The Silicon library is housed in a large hall of 17000 sq.ft. and is the centre of intellectual activities. It receives special attention and importance in the scheme of development of the institute. It has well over 60800+ books and subscribes to many important journals, national and international. The library remains open throughout the week. Students can issue books from the library under three different schemes. They are (a) Regular issue, (b) Book Bank issue and (c) Overnight issue. 

Services: Library reading room can accommodate 450 users at a time.

10. Utkal  University

The  central  library  of  Utkal  University,  named  after  its  first  Vice  Chancellor, Professor Pranakrushna Parija, is one of the finest libraries in the state of Odisha. Set up in 1946 in Cuttack, it was shifted to the campus of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar in1962. The building of the library, an impressive edifice, is spread over 28,000 square foot and comprises a large reading room, periodical, reference, manuscript, documentation and text-book and administrative sections.
