2.Port Huron Ophthalmology
After four years of active duty in the United States Air Force, where he served as Chief Ophthalmologist at Offutt Air Base, Nebraska, Dr. Brian V. Favero was recruited by the Port Huron Eye Clinic. He obtained a position as staff ophthalmologist in August 1994.
Upon closure of the Port Huron Eye Clinic, efforts began to open Port Huron Ophthalmology, which officially opened on January 27, 1997. The facility offers complete comprehensive ophthalmic services. A specialist in pre and postoperative management of ocular surgery patients and comprehensive eye examinations, Dr. Vanderhoof is an active member of a number of optometric associations at the local, state, and national levels. Dr. Vanderhoof is involved in a number of FDA multicenter clinical trials and serves as sub-clinical director in a number of studies. Dr. Vanderhoof has served as the President of the Metropolitan Detroit Optometric Society. He was one of the first doctors to introduce optometrists in Southeast Michigan to cataract and refractive surgery co-management, in partnership with Dr. Czajkowski.
