What is a BTech course in Electronics and Communication Engineering?

The Bachelor of Technology or BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is a 4-year undergraduate level course. As its name suggests, in this course two basic fields of engineering – electronics and telecommunication – are studied simultaneously. Students studying this course learn and learn about communication devices such as electronic devices, circuits, transmitters, receivers, integrated circuits. This course also includes study of basic electronics, data reception with analog and digital transmissions, microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antenna and wave progress etc. Doing this course helps the students to increase the knowledge and skill sets of basic concepts and theories required to work in the field of electronics and communication.

B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering – Eligibility Criteria

To take admission in any undergraduate level engineering course, students must have passed their 12th class examination from a recognized teaching board of the country. other than this:

  • Students should have passed 12th standard exam in Science subject (ie one of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subject) with at least qualifying marks. (At least the qualifying marks may vary from university to university).
  • Candidates will have to give JEE Main Entrance Exam and other suitable competitive exam for engineering. The JEE Mains Entrance Exam is a common national level entrance exam conducted by CBSE to give admission in most engineering colleges in India. Only after passing the JEE Mains Entrance Exam, students can give Joint Advanced Entrance Exam. Some colleges also conduct their entrance exams.
