Jharkhand Swabhiman is a non-profit organization registered in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It extends a helping hand to all sections of the society that are deprived in some way. The aim is to serve humanity without discrimination in terms of race, caste or religion. The foundation stones of the organization were laid on 6th February 2002 by a group of experienced and enthusiastic people who had already been associated with the social and economic development of the society. By their mutual efforts and in collaboration with social experts, educationists, youth and social animators and ideologists created JHARKHAND SWABHIMAN with a common vision and common mission.

Four engineering graduates who were very sensitive to the causes of disparity, exploitation and poverty, established Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra in 1971. Motivated by the vision and ideas of the great Sarvodaya leader Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan, these graduates made the decision to abandon their careers and comfortable lifestyles in order to explore ways to establish a just society, in which no one remains hungry, unemployed, exploited, or discriminated against. NBJK has grown significantly over the years.

Abhivyakti started as an informal group of young social activists to promote social and cultural activities like Srijanutsav, natyamahotsava, folk arts exhibition and other school/ college activities within Giridih district, which had a long void after its glorious past.
