The Chicago School of Music was originally established under the management of www.zzounds.com and www.harmonycentral.com at Pipers Alley at North and Wells in September of 1998. We focused on the core of our business which was music education and private lessons while the corporate center developed a cutting edge website for selling musical instruments. The music school was had its own space, teachers and managers. It was very unique because we offered training on the digital equipment that the store was selling as well as training on world instruments such as the didgeridoo, Koto, and Celtic Harp. We were also partners with the other businesses in Pipers Alley mainly Second City and Tony and Tina’s Wedding.

2.New Music School
Mentored by Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians, renowned collegiate professors, and other world-class faculty, our students are exposed to unconstrained musical exploration in a fun and engaging atmosphere. This Conservatory Program utilizes a robust five-level curriculum, combining private study, chamber music, and theory/ear training.
Our program challenges and grows with students; whether they are picking up an instrument for the first time or are looking to enter the most prestigious music conservatories in the world. Lessons are offered in piano, violin, viola, voice, guitar, and other orchestral and band instruments.

3.Chicago Center for Music Education
Founded, as the Suzuki-Orff School for Young Musicians in 1981, we launched our inaugural classes teaching 15 families of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds through our unique curriculum integrating the Suzuki and Orff methodologies. In 1986, we expanded on our goal to make music education available to children in Chicago by establishing partnerships with a number of Chicago Public Schools (CPS). In 2014, we began doing business as the Chicago Center for Music Education (ChiME).
