About: I love ice skating, swimming, deep friend-hangs, traveling, wildness, fashion, and parties. I live in Portland with my partner, Christopher, and our two children, Henry and Louisa.
I started Field in the summer of 2014. At that time, I had one cutie toddler and was teaching adult education and elementary after-school. I was yearning for a change and my next life steps. One morning, I was watering my little city flower garden and had a total epiphany that flowers could be my living, creatively and financially. I had a background in printmaking and other arts + crafts, so color palettes and compositions came naturally to me and translated easily to the medium of flowers. I started taking orders for local delivery and booking wedding clients immediately. Portland, Maine was fertile ground for both the ethos of sustainable floral practices as well as a new wave of floral design. Each year of business I settle more into a mastery of floristry while growing into new phases, like event design and production. My love of people and their life events, flowers as art, new ideas, and next-level hard work remain consistent.
