Georgia’s first renewable energy program, Green Power EMC, provides electricity through its 38 member EMCs (Electric Membership Corporations).  A nonprofit corporation, Green Power EMC uses green resources such as low-impact hydroelectric plants, biomass, landfill gas, and solar to generate electricity.

Green Power EMC Members’ renewable energy projects total approximately 635 megawatts (MW) of capacity.

Jefferson Energy Cooperative’s mission is to safely deliver reliable and competitively priced electricity to our member-consumers.  We do this through a highly skilled, committed and motivated workforce.  We serve to improve the quality of life for our members and communities.


Green Power Program

Jefferson Energy is proud to offer Green Power to our residential members.  Sold in 150 kilowatt hour blocks, each block is an additional $4 added to the member’s bill.  The cost for Green Power is slightly higher than that created from usual sources due to the cost of the technologies involved.
