2.Spotlight Dance Center
Born in San Jose California, Margarita began her dance training at the age of six in Miami, FL at the Miami Conservatory studying with Thomas Armour, Bob Pike, and Martha Mahr. Margarita became a member of the Miami Ballet Company before leaving home and family for New York at the age of 15 to attend the High School of Performing Arts (now LaGuardia HS) . While living in New York, she trained with Ballet Hispanico, the Carnegie Ballet and Joffery Ballet; all on full scholarship.  Upon graduation Margaret joined Ballet Company “Fundation Teresa Carreno” in Caracas, Venezuela touring for over two years in South America.  Returning to Miami, Margaret attended New World School of the Arts and continued to perform professionally with a variety of ballet, jazz and Musical Theater Companies including the Miami Opera and the Hirschfeld Theater. Other credits include various commercials, television shows, variety shows, and movies including “Miami Rhapsody” and “Fame.” In 1994 Margaret joined the cast of  “Beauty and The Beast” at the MGM Studio’s, Orlando, FL.  Later she joined the cast of “Pocahontas” where she served as both performer and dance captain.  Margarita and husband Peter Anthony opened Spotlight Dance Center in 1996. Margaret has been teaching classical ballet, her first love, for over thirty years.

9.Edgez Dance
Mariann Paul was inspired to start her own dance studio when she was just a teen living in Paramus. Two afternoons a week she would come home from high school and teach ballet and jazz to 23 local friends and neighbors in the basement of her parents’ home. She never dreamed that what started as an afterschool part time job would become a lifetime passion for bringing the gift of dance to so many girls and boys in Bergen County. In 1982 Mariann’s School of Dance was officially established in a location in Oradell and has been growing ever since with the distinctive energy and spirit of its dancers, teachers and staff. Today, through the wonderful enthusiasm and support of the community, the studio offers over 70 dance classes per week.

10 Perform Orlando Dance School
Children’s dance classes are some kid’s only social activity. Socialization during this pandemic is important, as long as it is safe. Kids love dance, in part, because their best friends are at their dance school. Science-based safety precautions resulted in zero cases of Covid-19 amongst dancers and staff. Small dance groups of no more than 10 dancers (10 dancers under age 6, 6 dancers under age 4) and one instructor in a group/class. Social Distancing inside the studios. Dancers remain in their “squares” with their very own, individual props.
