2. Marcella’s Bridal, Inc.

ABOUT US: Marcella has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Her father ran a re-upholstery business out of their garage and taught her tips and tricks that laid the foundation for her sewing skills. Growing up it was always more of a hobby for her, such as making her own prom dress and Halloween costumes for her kids. However, in 1989 Marcella began her journey into the world of bridal, designing wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses for friends and acquaintances; from there Marcella’s Bridal was born. For ten years she made custom dresses out of her home while raising her children. As her kids grew, so did the business and in 1999 Marcella’s Bridal opened its first brick and mortar store in north Spokane. When the new store opened, Marcella’s husband Craig and daughter Kassi, joined the family business. In 2007 we outgrew our original location and moved to our current home in downtown Spokane making us centrally located for all of our brides coming from near and far.

The owner of Honest in Ivory. She went through undergrad and graduate school at Washington State University Spokane while working at a fabulous local designer gown shop, where the love for gowns and bridal began. She is still a practicing speech therapist who realized that this life is not a dress rehearsal (kinda corny, but true) and decided to just go for it and open her own dream shop. All throughout high school and into college, I made many of my outfits and wore them with pride. It was no surprise when my love of making clothing lead me across the country to the fashion capital of the world – New York City. I attended and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Patternmaking.
