3.Howey Acting Studio
We are Carla and Bill Howey. We are acting coaches/ teachers. The first of August 2016 we moved from Los Angeles, California to our new home in Chandler, Arizona. Our move to Arizona was motivated by our decision to slow down the intensity of our work schedule from what it’s been for over 30 years in LA and Denver. However, we never want to stop working with actors. From actors just starting out to actors starring on TV or movies we have experienced it all.
We wrote and published a book, The Actors Menu; wrote, directed and produced three movies and helped many actors work toward their goals. Along the way, we developed our effective actor-focused style of teaching and coaching. We’re loving Phoenix and look forward to meeting and working with the actors here.

5.THE ACADEMY THEATRE
The year was 1980. Angel Arredondo had a wild imagination writing stories of psychodrama and supernatural elements. He wrote fervently hitting the keys on a typewriter, creating a mild ruckus in his bedroom into the wee hours of morning. He would usually retire only when his mother would yell “Stop typing!” This veneration would eventually produce four written screenplays, a published book, thirty-three showcases, and ten full-length plays throughout the lifetime of the fervent playwright. Thirty years later the last works would eventually take stage at the Academy Theatre, a not-for-profit enterprise that would emerge as the small but dauntless arts community created by the would-be director Mr. Arredondo in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona.

Prospective students and their parents/guardians are invited to experience tours of the UA School of Theatre, Film & Television. Our tour guides offer a behind-the-scenes peek at our first-class facilities, including theatres, shops and studios.
