WAM Team Company (Wayanad Agro Movement Tea Company) is a Public ltd company located in Mananthavady Thaluk, Wayanad. WAM Tea produces 9 different grades of tea dust tea dust based on quality for exporting and auction. Ensured Quality
WAM Tea Company is UTZ certified company for its best quality products. There are several kinds of quality measures had been taken down by the Warn tea. Some of them are training to the farmer, grading of green leaf, grading of tea dust and cleanliness inside the factory. The factory also undergoes inspections by agencies like Tea Board and UPASI to ensure the quality of production.
Training Farmers
Wam tea collects green leaf for their production from the small tea growers near to the factory. To ensure they produce best quality tea we give the tea growers necessary training on procedures of different stages of farming. For instance the fertilization methods followed and way of plucking the green leaf will affect quality of the dust produced. The training has been conducted under the guidance of tea board and UPASI, the two agencies works for the development of the tea industries in India.
We ensure maximum number of farmers are present in the training. From the training they not only get the important informations from the experts and scientists but also the financial help that ensure they can follow scientific farming procedures.

5.Vagavurrai Tea Factory
Carrying forward a lineage that dates back over 136 years to the British Colonial Raj era, the Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company Private Limited (KDHP) succeeded Tata Tea Limited on 1st April, 2005, when the latter exited most of its plantations in Munnar to focus on the growth of its branded tea business. During the year 2004-2005, owing to the general crisis prevalent in the tea industry at the time, Tata Tea Ltd restructured and came up with a proposal to transfer its holdings in the Kanan Devan Hills Village. This was done as part of a restructuring exercise evolved through a detailed study, particularly taking note of the prevalent crisis in the tea industry.
Thus, the Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company was formed, making it the largest employee-owned tea company in the world. Encompassing the Participatory Management System of operations, where the shareholders of the company are mainly its employees – a novel concept in the plantation industry credited to the farsighted vision of the company’s Founding Managing Director, Late. Haileyburia Tea Estates Ltd (HTEL), incorporated in 1923, operates three estates – Haileyburia, Semnivalley & Chinnar, in Idukki District of Kerala, India. It employs around 1000 people to produce around 18 lakh kilograms of CTC black tea annually. In addition, HTEL grows Coffee & Spices in small quantity. 7.Pattumalay Heritage Tea Factory
Harrisons Malayalam Limited is India’s largest producer of rubber and South India’s largest cultivator of Tea.
Exotic horticulture being a labour intensive activity the company has been a major employer of people. It today has a workforce of about 15,000.
