1.Kehonka Consulting

Kehonka Consulting has been operating in the South African mining industry, providing expert Structural Engineering design services – primarily, though not limited to steel – since 1997 to a multitude of companies.

After graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1974, and working for a broad spectrum of companies, inter alia, Dorbyl, Genmin, Batemans, Engineering Management Services, Lillicrap Wassenaar, Ledingham Reed Hunt & Joseph, Greg Francis started a company, Maimela Francis and Associates in 1997, which then morphed into Kehonka Consulting in 2000.

After securing some government work in the form of Mammethlake Clinic and Pretoria Prison Upgrade, a young dynamic company, Holley and Associates (H&A), enlisted the services of Kehonka Consulting (KC) in 1997.From the outset, H&A entrusted KC with most of its structural design requirements, the bulk of which was sourced from Dowding Reynard and Associates (DRA). As DRA rapidly expanded in South Africa and globally into a major role player in the mining industry, H&A concomitantly grew, and KC became its prime structural consulting engineer. At this stage Greg Francis became H&A’s head of the structural department.DRA acquired H&A in 2011, and KC continued disseminating structural design engineering services to H&A’s owners, DRA. In 2016 DRA was bought by Stockdale Investments. This acquisition launched DRA – and KC – fully onto the world stage, with DRA now having offices in Canada, Australia, China and England.
