According to the CEO of Pixxel Awais Ahmed, they are desiring to launch satellites which is useful for the governments and private organizations in accumulating AI-powered analytical data associated with climate, agriculture, defence monitoring, spreading of crop pests and diseases, natural disasters, fire in the forest, etc. The company has received funding of $5M from growX, Blume and Lightspeed to launch the first satellite.

Agnikul Cosmos 

Agnikul Cosmos is an aerospace startup founded by Srinath Ravichandran and Moin SPM in 2017. The company is based on defence and space industry and it’s headquartered is in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The main intention of the startup is to develop Mini launch vehicles for small satellites at a reasonable price. It is India’s only aerospace startup that uses 3-D printing technology to design a rocket engine which can be printed on a single piece. The company is producing a small rocket that can bear 200kg load. It has received funding of 23.4 crores in the Series A funding round.


Skyroot is one of the successful aerospace startups in India founded by Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka in 2018. Both the founders were previous scientists of ISRO. The company is based on defence and space industry and it’s headquarter is located in Hyderabad, Telangana. The main motive of the Skyroot is to produce launch vehicles. Skyroot is India’s first privately owned company that has the ability to develop a homegrown rocket engine. The company has a series of launch like Vikram 1, Vikram 2, Vikram 3. Kawa Space

XOVIAN is an aerospace startup in India that is founded by Raghav Sharma and Ankit Bhateja in 2011. The startup is based in New Delhi. The main focus of the startup is to develop low-cost sustainable solutions in satellite federation. This startup is a member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). Bellatrix Aerospace is one of the most prominent aerospace startups in India that is founded by Rohan M Ganapathy and Yashas Karanam in 2015. Basically, the startup is based in Coimbatore and it is a research and development company which produces electric propulsion systems for satellites. The main motive of the company is to use its patented electric propulsion systems to decrease the cost of a satellite mission. Presently, the company is creating a rocket called ‘Chetak’ which is very less in price also it is reusable as it is made up of next-generation construction material like carbon composite. This rocket is the first rocket that has an engine which is made up of Methane and liquid oxygen. The company has also produced the electric satellite propulsion named Microwave Electro-thermal Thruster (MET) that is more efficient and lasts longer than a customary one.

Earth2Orbit is one of an aerospace startup founded by Sushmita Mohanty in 2007. It is India’s first private space startup. The startup has spread its roots in several other cities of India such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Trivandrum. It also has offices in foreign cities like Vienna and San Francisco. Dhruva Space 

Dhruva Space is an aerospace startup in India founded by Sanjay Nekkanti, Abhishek Raju and Narayan Prasad in 2012. Basically, the company is located in Bangalore. The founder of the startup Sanjay Nekkanti has learned about satellites and space instruments in Germany and Sweden. After returned to India, Sanjay started a SpaceTech startup in 2012 but it is little difficult for him to handle then he and his friend initiated Dhruva Space. The main aim of the startup is to develop a spacecraft development private industry in the country. The startup has signed an MOU with ISRO to create a follow-up satellite to HAMSAT-1 that has launched in 2005.
