4.vctblr
About-Vathsalya Charitable Trust, since 1988, has been working towards helping children to meet their dreams. We as an organization believe that children shouldn’t be denied their rights because of where they were born. The problems of poverty, illiteracy and homelessness seem to fall hardest on the children of migratory families, these families struggle to find basic child care and nutrition let alone guarantee an education for their children. In our experience, most parents tend to become helpless and hopeless while others settle for very mean options, some parents even turn violent and abusive; leaving these children in spaces they don’t feel safe.
Services-CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER Prathik came to VCT in 2016 with a feeding bottle in his mouth. His family migrated from Assam to earn a living, his mother works as a housemaid and his father works at a hotel, along with his younger sister they live in an outhouse on a construction site. The family struggles to take care of their two children and often Prathik is dropped off at VCT even when he is sick, they also struggle with hygiene and nutrition.

7.pingalwara
About-Information About Pingalwara, founded by Bhagat Puran Singh, is a home for the homeless, a hope for the forlorn, a hospital for the sick and a cradle for the orphaned and abandoned child. It was conceived in the serene environment of Gurdwara Dehra Sahib, Lahore where the founder used to come across some destitute and hapless, uncared sick and old people fending for themselves on the road-side footpaths, etc. And, it was built in Amritsar after the partition of the country. Pingalwara was got registered as ‘All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd.), Amritsar’ by its founder from the Registrar of Companies, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on 6.3.1957. The idea and the need for establishing this institution came into the mind of its founder in the said Gurdwara, which was further intensely felt by him in 1934 C.E. when a spastic child of four came under his care.

Services-Education standard of government run schools is very low and the poor people cannot afford to send their children to private schools. Bhagatji was of the view that state of poor and deprived sections of the society cannot be improved unless they are educated. With this in view, Pingalwara is running five schools where free education is provided.
