3.Presage Biosciences

Presage’s patented CIVO® (Comparative In Vivo Oncology) technology delivers microdoses of multiple drugs to different regions of a tumor, while the tumor is still in the patient. Observing molecular and cellular responses to drugs and combinations in a naturally occurring tumor has the potential to provide a more detailed understanding of tumor biology, directly encompassing a patient’s own immune system, tumor microenvironment, and genetic background. It is Presage mission to improve the way that new drugs are developed and targeted, with the goal of ultimately providing more effective treatments to patients with cancer.

5.Faraday Pharmaceuticals

Faraday Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company pioneering the use of specific, reduced forms of natural elements — elemental reducing agents — to improve quality of life after acute, critical illness.

While life expectancy has increased, so has the number of years that people live in poor health. A major contributor to decreased quality of life is associated with muscle loss following illnesses such as a heart attack or other emergency health crises.

Pathophysiology / Mechanism of Action

Broad evidence from preclinical studies confirms that reducing levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) at the time of reperfusion can significantly diminish infarct size in models of coronary occlusion. Extrapolation of these observations to clinical practice has been constrained by limitations related to pharmacological issues. Examples of these issues include dosing, active ingredients, bioavailability, routes of administration, co-therapies, timing of the drug intervention, pharmacokinetics, and drug toxicity. FDY-5301 has been designed to overcome these barriers to success.
