The venture aims to impact lives of poor hill women in Himachal and foot hills of Punjab. What started as a small social search has become a movement of 300+ hill and rural women in 7 districts of Himachal, Punjab, India. Many of our knitters are sole bread winners of their families, Many are single mothers and almost all have their men working hundreds of kilometres away as far as Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. All now have children going to school with assured money for tuition, books and uniforms. The Original Knit guarantees them upfront regular payments, access to schemes and access to credit.
