Acharya Tej was born and raised in India and brings the authentic teachings of Yoga practiced in India for thousands of years. His Guru and inspiration of yoga is Swami Sivananda, a revered saint and sage who in 1936 founded the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, India. Acharya Tej has served on the Yoga Alliance Committee for best practices of yoga schools. He has formulated this unique and authentic Teacher Training program in Dallas, Texas bringing the teachings of Yoga as taught for centuries in India.He has been practising and studying Yoga for more than26 years . He studied with the Sivananda Yoga tradition in New Delhi, Rishikesh and in Uttarkashi in the Himalayas. Yoga Acharya Tej is committed to spreading the teachings of this healing science to all. He also serves as an Instructor at the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in New Delhi, India. He earned a Bachelor of Science with a Postgraduate specialization in Communication Electronics, and was inducted as a Member of the Institute of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineers of India. He is Vice Chairman of Ekoankar Foundation a non-profit charity organization supporting impoverished children with a primary education in India
