Types of Visas available in Dubai

  • Employment Visa

The company sponsoring the employee or the applicant handles all the required paperwork for this visa. The basic requirements for an employment visa are as follows:

  1. Aged 18 or above 
  2. Valid passport 
  3. Confirmed job offer from a registered company based in Dubai
    • Family Visa

    A person who is married to a Dubai resident is eligible to apply for a family visa. Moreover, the resident’s parents or children can also opt for this visa. However, if the parents living in Dubai are sponsoring their kids, they must be below 18 years of age and unmarried.

  • In addition to that, there are certain other requirements of the Family visa that the sponsor needs to fulfill – 

  1. The immigrant must have a company-sponsored accommodation to sponsor the partner or child. Additionally, his earnings must be around AED 3,000 – 4,000 per month.

  1. To sponsor parents, the resident must be earning at least AED 20,000. In case one of the parents is deceased or separated, the applicant must submit documentary proof for the same.

Women working or residing in Dubai cannot sponsor dependents.

  • Student Visa
An applicant applying for a student visa must have a university sponsorship or a relative who is residing in Dubai. After the arrival in UAE, the applicant has to go through several health checks to confirm an acceptable health condition. Any applicant who tests positive for any severe illness such as HIV, hepatitis B, or C, tuberculosis, or leprosy shall be exiled or disqualified.

  1. Documents required for student visa include :
  2. Valid passport
  3. Passport-sized photograph
  4. Admission letter from the UAE university
  5. Proof of accommodation in Dubai
  6. Tuition fee receipt
  7. Visa fee receipt
  8. Proof of financial sufficiency
  9. Academic documents
The student visa is valid for one year and the applicant can renew accordingly.
  • Investor Visa
An investor visa is issued to venture capitalists who have invested in their own business or an established company in Dubai. Other than an easy acquisition of a visa, they enjoy several other benefits such as exemption from income tax, corporate tax, etc. The investor visa is valid for three years. The applicant can later renew it as per the need.
  • Property Owner Visa

Considering that Dubai is growing, investing in property is a great way to secure a residence permit for expatriates.  The applicants eligible for the property owner visa are the ones who have invested in any property in Dubai. The minimum investment must be at least AED 10,00,000, i.e., the purchase value of the property has to be this amount. Besides, the property must be a ready-to-move-in residential property.

The holder of a property owner visa can later sponsor their spouse and children to immigrate to Dubai. In addition to that, their monthly income has to be at least AED 10,000.


The applicant must submit the following documents to obtain this visa – 

  1. Valid passport
  2. Passport-sized photographs
  3. The original deed of the property
  4. No-Objection Certificate from the developer
  5. Certificate of good conduct from Dubai officials
