The society for advanced studies in Medical Sciences awarded him the Doctorate certificate in Respiratory Medicine (Dc RM) in the year 1988.

Received the award of fellow of the Society for Advanced Studies in Medical Sciences after being thoroughly evaluated in the art and science of Respiratory Medicine in the year 1994.

Was conferred upon the merit of EMINENT CITIZEN OF INDIA by the Association of College of Chest Physicians in recognition of excellence in the field of medicine in the year 1994 and was admitted as Life Member of ACCP.

Received the glorious appointment as Emeritus Professor in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, at SRM Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre- SRM University Chennai on 19th October 2012.

The Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) was conferred in the 8th Convocation of SRM University in 2012. The President of India gave this honor.
