This historic Fergus funeral home dates its origin to the village of Belwood (Douglas) in the mid 1800\u2019s as the undertaking business of Mr. Onslow Jupp. It is unclear how long Mr. Jupp had served the thriving community of Belwood prior to the arrival of the Credit Valley Railroad in the mid 1870’s.             l972 \u2013 Bert Custance assumes sole ownership and renames the firm the Wall-Custance Funeral Home, and operates the funeral home with his wife Margaret.<\/span><\/p>\n

            l980 \u2013 Mr. Custance retires and the funeral home is purchased by Jim and Joan Glaves, who initiated extensive renovations in 1984, joining the two houses that make up the current funeral home, and adding a chapel and reception centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

            2007 \u2013 Mr. Glaves retires and long-time employee Scott Young and his wife Betty Ann become owners.<\/span><\/p>\n

            2014 \u2013 Taylor Young, Scott and Betty Ann\u2019s eldest son, becomes a licensed funeral director and joins the family business.<\/span><\/p>\n
